Yuvvraaj was one of the biggest films for Subhash Ghai and eagerly awaited by a lot of people and apparently didn't live up to people's expectations.

The overall music also, grows only after a while and that too if you persist!
Tu Meri Dost Hai is a song I like because of the music which is fantastic.
The violon + the woooo sound awesome and take the song on a total high when it starts.

Benny Dayal features on my blog for the second post in a row! Totally unintentional..
Kaise Mujhe is another recent hit song in his kitty. Benny Dayal is a Keralite and also sang for Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na (Pappu Can't Dance & Nazrein Milana).

Lots of good talent, new singers and musicians in Bollywood. Good to hear!

Sometimes destiny prevails and you don't know how things happened and why they happened.. but you're glad they did!

That's what Kaise Mujhe is about..it's about how he (Aamir Khan) can't figure how he got the girl :) which is played by Asin who is a top actress in South India.. I thought she was a nice fresh face and a pleasant change from the current trio of Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif & Priyanka Chopra!

Kaise Mujhe is a melow, slow song which will grow on you over time.. it's got this nice beat in the background which is nice and is also there in the song Tanhayee from Dil Chahta Hai if you listen closely.. nice piano beats to end it.. this is the only other song I really like from Ghajini besides Guzarish..

I truly think A.R. Rahman music is the kind which takes some time before it gets hooked!

Recommendation : Go for it! Nice song.

This song somehow reminds me of march past in school! I guess it's the style in which the song is sung, especially the "From A Chandni Chowk To China, Dekha Kabhi Tune Hai Aaina..."

I also like the Haiyaaa part quite a bit!
Differently sung song, with a dash of chinese style in it.. and yes, lots of people involved - Singers, Musicians, Writers and the cast!

Chandni Chowk To China according to various reports floating around is about Akshay Kumar's life and his struggle before he became a successful actor.. from Delhi to Bangkok..check out more info about Akshay Kumar here.

Filmed on Rahul Khanna & Soha Ali Khan (reminded me a little of the title song of the movie 'Fiza'.. tu hawa hai, fiza hai.. that one!) I guess it's because of the same blue color outfit worn by Soha & Karisma Kapoor in each of these songs..

Sweet, soft and classical is how I'd describe this version of Soniyo.
It's got these beats at the beginning of the song which remind me a little of Baatein Kuch Ankahi Si (Life in a Metro...)and I guess it's just the style of music which makes me think so.

The Acoustic guitar sounds awesome and is 1 big reason I like the song.

Soniyo (the original version) is sung by Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal & Neeraj Sridhar (English vocals) which have the English song touch and is a little chirpier a version.. a little more upbeat - ofcourse because it's Sonu Nigam singing! :)

I'm still hooked to Maahi + Soniyo from this album.. and still exploring.. will come back for more! Till then.. listen to Soniyooo..

How often does it happen that you meet someone and feel an instant connect? Rare.. isn't it?
Maahi is all about this feeling where you meet that special someone and then feel like, yes! this is the person I've always been looking for...

Sung with a lot of passion by Toshi Sabri (of STAR Voice of India fame) this song is sure to get him a lot more recognition considering it's a sequel to Raaz which starred Dino Morea & Bipasha Basu which was a box-office blockbuster and had great music as well.

Raaz - The Mystery Continues... stars Emraan Hashmi and Kangana Ranaut where in Emraan Hashmi plays a painter who can forsee Kangana's future in the form of his paintings - freaky!

Maahi also has a second version called (Rock with Me) which has got nice guitar beats at the beginning like the original (sounds gooood!) and more of drums & music to give it the rock effect.
Between the 2 versions, I think the original is a little peaceful and the rock version just seems louder. Both have their own style.. and will linger.

However, Raaz - The Mystery - directed by Mohit Suri looks like a good thriller/horror flick which I will not watch :)

Enjoy the music though.. Maahi is surely worth a listen, it grows on you the more you listen to it.. so do give it a second chance.

This song is a total surprise in the movie and is brilliant. Nice sets, good music, and a very different style of using or "being inspired" by old songs ... and no, it's not even a remix!

The song features the man himself - SRK with quite a few leading ladies of Bollywood.
Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta, Lara Dutta & Bipasha Basu... but undoubtedly, SRK and Kajol are unbeatable is what I think.. they just look fab together!

Sung by Sonu Nigam - my all time favorite, who's done total justice to the song.. full of energy and fun to listen to.

The nice line from the song is "Hum hain rahi pyaar ke, phir milenge chalte chalte"
Never say goodbye.. always say.. see you and we'll meet again.. on our way :)

P.S. SRK was really good as Surinder Sahni (Suri) & I also think Tujhme Rab Dikhta Hai is a top song of the year 2008.

Guzarish is sung by Javed Ali of Jashn - e - Bahaara fame and I think he has done justice to both songs and it's good to hear some new voices being repeated.

Also, this is Aamir Khan's big movie this year which apparently is a remake of a South Indian film which indeed looks like a mix of a little romance and lotsa action.

Coming to the video of Guzarish, it reminds me of Suraj hua madham from K3G.. don't know.. just some resemblance.

It's a nice song nevertheless and it's about the feeling of being complete when a wish is fulfilled when someone you desire becomes yours.

I think, it's a song that will linger for a while..

Shutup and Bounce - Dostana

Strange title of the song.. sizzling music and not so sizzling Shilpa Shetty is what comprises Shutup and Bounce. It's the opening song of the film with the titles and not much connection to the film reall except the fact of John Abraham doing a photo shoot with some beach babes - maybe the Baywatch effect.

This is the first time I think Shilpa Shetty features in anything associated with the 'Karan Johar' camp.. good for her! I seriously think Shilpa Shetty gained more than lost from 'Big Brother' .. she launched a signature perfume, a Yoga DVD, hosted the second second season of Big Boss, a huge fan base in the UK and.. a lover.

Good going.. and I hope things go well for her in the future too.. but .. when I compare her with Priyanka Chopra who plays the female lead in the film.. she doesn't look so hot..

.. well ya.. just being honest.

The music in Shutup and Bounce is groovy, catchy and fast (pay attention to the music in between verses).

What I like the most about the song is the last bit.. which just speedens the song.
All in all - Awesome music by Vishal - Shekhar... and the good thing is - ALL Dostana songs feature on this blog :)

The whole thing about love.. and mush and how you're like flying in the air and have no clue about your surroundings.. and you suddenly can hear the birds chirping.. notice people smiling and all seems well!

I'm sure it's an awesome feeling.. and sure is depicted well through the song as well.
It's slow, melodious and a feel good song.

All said and done.. this is a decent song.. can hold onto it for a while!

P.S. I actually began to like the song after listening to it on various Radio stations which explains why the song is up here way after the promo song happened and the film release (which in my opinion was a silly film) - totally missable.

Very nice beats, good music & the three of them (Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham & Priyanka Chopra) look outstanding!

The movie was a good watch and hilarious in the first half.
Kiron Kher & Sushmita Mukherji were good in the small roles they had.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is a long awaited film from the Yash Raj camp which releases on 12th December starring Shahrukh Khan and female debutante Anushka Sharma (I personally don't think she's that great - atleast from what I see in the promos).

SRK also, has a release after his last hit Om Shanti Om which released around Diwali last year and I'm sure he's banking big time on this film after Akshay Kumar amongst others giving him a run for his monies :)

Talking about Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai - I think this song is a beautiful, soulful melody and sung sooo well by Roopkumar Rathod (of Tere Liye fame from Veer - Zaara).

It's got sweet lyrics and is a typical Yash Raj Films kinda song... with a little Punjabi touch with the lines Vasdi vasdi vasdi, dil di dil di vasdi...

The song takes of with a couple of santoor beats which sound excellent followed by the flute a little later in the song.. good job by Salim-Sulaiman (good to see new compositions from them.. not to forget Aaja Nach le & the very recent Fashion).

Just happened to watch the movie today.. thought it was just about OK.. a little boring too.
However, the message that the film tries to give to the people of today is that when you borrow money, be responsible enough to repay it and don't shy away from responsibility.

Sanjay Dutt was good given the role he had.. but he's almost - not there in the first half of the film!

Coming to the song Aankhon hi aankhon mein - I think it's an awesome love/mushy song.
Well sung by Mohit Chauhan (who makes a brief appearance at the start of the song).

What I really like about the song is the guitar, the whistle and the light beats.
Also, the song's been shot very nicely with a nice set which is sea-side and all lit up!
(I think it's H2O in Chowpatty, Mumbai - Suniel Shetty's venture where they have water sports and a pretty restaurant too.. called Salt Water Grill).

If you pay attention to the lyrics, it's all about how there might be so many things you may want to say to the person you love.. but somehow you're unable to express when the person's with you.. and you're lost for words! That's what happens to Sanjay Dutt in the film :)

Coming to the music of the song.. I think it's got a good mix of traditional singing style along with some good beats and some additional effect in the form of the English lines added in.

It's got a good mix of ramp music, style, oomph, attitude, and can drive you crazy! and .. yes, definitely put you in a trance.

Pay attention to the santoor for sure.. followed by the violin.. and then a whole lot of instruments!

I am really looking forward to this film.. I hope it's a good watch!

Soulful, melodious and full of passion is what I think of Mar Jawaan from the film fashion.
Very well executed in terms of music by Salim - Sulaiman (they also directed & Composed the music for Aaja Nachle..which had good music too).

If I were to categorise Mar Jawaan.. it reminds me of O re piya of Aaja Nachle..
Somehow I do find some resemblance in the two.. maybe because they are both compositions of the same music directors.

I simply love the music with which the song starts.. the piano.. sounds very peaceful which is followed by lyrics in another language.. which I have no idea about but I think it sounds amazing.

The Santoor is also sounds great with light notes at a few instances of the song...

All in all.. this song is one of my current favorites.. and you definitely need a mood to listen to this kind of music and this song.. and you definitely should give it a shot!

The most rocking song this season is what I would call Desi Girl from Dostana.
It's picturised on Abhishek Bachchan(I really hope this film does well for him.. he really needs it), John Abraham (in a movie after a long time - last film being Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal) and Priyanka Chopra (whose last film Drona along with AB bombed at the box - office).

Desi Girl is full of josh, fast beats and a nice Punjabi feel to it.

Thinking about the lyrics of the song.. I would like to agree with the fact that there lacs of pardesi girls but at the end of it all.. a desi girl is what a guy would like to take to his parents.

Rocking song, rocking music, well picturised and I can't wait to watch the film..

One of the initial reality and talent shows on TV was aired on Channel V which lead to the formation of a girl pop band called VIVA which included 5 girls from all over India.
Of them - Anushka made a name in Bollywood with Golmaal and a couple of others and did a pretty good job of them.

Neha Bhasin who is the female playback singer of Kuch Khaas is a dropout of the VIVA band and wanted to do something on her own.. I think she did release an album of her's which I think did just about ok.. and now I think it's a good break with Fashion.

Mohit Chauhan's voice I would term as intoxicating.. and simply brilliant!
He has his own style of singing but once I did mistake one of his songs to be sung by Kunal Ganjawala...

Kuch Khaas has nice beats and also has the guitar music which will take you back to this old English song called "Hazard" by Richard Marx which is one of my all time favorites. Listen to it here if you haven't.

Kuch Khaas - is a nice, romantic melody worth listening to.

Finally a film that seems my kind.. and a movie I really do want to watch!

Thinking of Jaane Kyun.. it takes me back to "Dil Chahta Hai" and the song picturised on Aamir Khan & Preity Zinta which was also a fantastic soft song...

I am addicted to the song.. and have been listening to it almost non-stop.. I hope I'm not bored by the time the film releases (14th November).

When I think of Tandoori - what immediately comes to my mind is chicken! and maybe.. Paneer (Cottage cheese).

I mean what the hell am I thinking about food when we are talking about a song here...
that's because this song is so Tandoori! Also, the film's title is spelt with 4 Z! The Z effect I must say :)

Besides the song's name.. I think it's a winner and Himesh Reshammiya is back.
He is such a favorite amongst the masses and a lot of people do love him! and ofcourse.. hate him too.

One also gets to see Urmila Matondkar in a film after a long time.. she plays Simi Garewal's role in the film.. vilainous!

Tandoori Nights has nice beats, and foot tapping music.. you should listen to it for sure and my favorite lines are:

One line that deserves thought is - Kabhi khud pe hasa main, aur kabhi roya..
There are times in our lives where sometimes you feel I'm the best and it's all good and then there's a time where you feel.. what am I doing!!??

Sinbad the Sailor is the last song which the band "Magik" in the film performs.. it's their last big chance and they did a wonderful job of it.

The lyrics don't make much sense to me.. but I just like the beats and the music in this track.
It's fast and fun! If you've watched the film, there's a moment where Purab Kohli (K.D. - Killer Drummer) starts playing the drums just before Arjun Rampal enters to perform - that moment was indeed killer.. very nice and very well done!

Sad - emotional but nice.
Remix - not so much fun..
Unplugged - sweet!

Very sweetly sung by Shreya Ghoshal is what makes the song a winner. It's also got nice, soft beats along with some folk music which somehow gives me the

Rajasthani feel.. don't know why.

However, my favorite bits of the song are the lines sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.. the feeling is just so different and amazing!

Picturised on Ranveer Shorey - who is a common link between the two songs.
This song's got a fast pace to it.. and a little flattish range.. but it's a decent track..but I wouldn't say as good as the other songs in this album.

Overall, Singh is Kinng has decent songs.. except Bhootni Ke - I have no idea as to why that song was called so.

The first time I heard this song.. my instant reaction was .. what's Lu(aa)cky boy??
Pretty weird is what I thought but then when you keep listening to it or for that matter even try and sing along.. you'll end up with Lu(aa)cky boy :)

Hard Kaur is the singing sensation of the season.. with so many tracks one after the other..and the highlight of the song is the music.. simply brilliant and catchy.. and not to forget the sensuous Bipasha Basu.


This song is a chart buster for sure & you got to listen to it if you haven't watched or heard this song or even if you already hate it - it's still a nice song :)

As simple as that is what this simple melody from Rock On!! is about.
I'm actually quite amazed at how well Farhan Akhtar can sing.. I mean I never expected him to sing, and that too so many songs in the film. So now, he too is multi-tasking.. from being a director to producer to actor to singer. Wow! that's quite a lot of cost cutting I'd say.. I also think it's cool if he can do a good job in each role.

The music of this song is pretty melow in comparison with some of the other songs in the album.. I guess it's because it's more of an emotional and sad song.. more like a point in a film when u realise the importance of that someone special. Will have to wait for the movie to see if it actually is like that..


All said and done.. I think it's a nice song.. do listen to it, especially the music which goes with the O..o..wo.woo..!

Is this love from Kismat Konnection is a sweet, romantic melody which somehow reminds me of Tumse Hi from Jab We Met which became a super hit song when it released..

Is this love is also the name of a song from Pyaar Ke Side Effects which starred Mallika Sherawat & Rahul Bose.. which was sung by Kunal Ganjawala.. (2 songs with the same title!)

Both songs have a similar feel, slow paced, decent music.. and the same singer.. and similar mood..

All said and done.. I like both songs..

Going beyond the music, I'd say - Welcome Lucky Ali!
It's a refreshing feel to music after really long.. the last track I can recollect sung by Lucky Ali is
Ek Pal Ka Jeena from Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai which was a chartbuster.. and there was Sur as well.

Besides these.. haven't heard much of Lucky Ali..

The title Ahista Ahista has also been used a lot in Bollywood and to name some.. here goes:

Pritam has done a good job with the music.. and I think Labh Janjua sounds exactly the same as Akshay Kumar in this song.. for a moment when I first heard the song.. I thought it was Akshay Kumar singing..well done Labh Janjua!

And.. as usual - Akshay Kumar rocks in this song too :)

I simply like the feeling that this song gives.. which is a good feeling..
Nice music, nice beats and different lyrics, or maybe a different language.

In the context of the film it's nice when in a music class each student is asked to demonstrate a peace of their own art.. everyone is playing a different instrument and how the protagonist - A Pakistani is joined by the entire class.

The movie was alright.. pretty slow and serious. I actually was scared to visit the US after watching the film!

All said and done, I like the song very much.
The remix and rock version are good too.

These lines just remind me of the song from Bombay to Bangkok - Same same but different because of the Hinglish lyrics..and If I were to think a little more, I'd also say it reminds me of Dil dance maare from Tashan. (No similarity in the music or look, it's just a personal thought).

Just imagine if a guy had good looks, money, intelligent, fun loving.. but couldn't dance?
I think it's a little boring.. a little dance is good for everyone :)

Jaane tu was a very cute movie, made me feel really good after I walked out of the cinema hall.. it had no jazz, was simple and a fun movie.

The signature steps of Pappu can't dance are cute..
Imran Khan & Genelia look nice..

And the bit where they talk about Papa Kehte Hain - I guess that was a take off from the song Papa Kehte Hain which was from Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (Aamir Khan's first? or one of his initial films)..

Anu Malik has made a good comeback is what I'd say after hearing this song.. he has pretty much been a little thanda in the recent past and not been around with too many music compositions..

Talli (T'h'alli )ho gayi is a fun, dance song to which you can't stay still.. I'm sure when you listen to it.. you want to groove to the music.

Mika Singh also has made a good impact in the song but I think he is carrying on from Ae Ganpat from Shootout At Lokhandwala.. but all said and done, he's sung the song well!

Ugly Aur Pagli starring Mallika Sherawat & Ranvir Shorey is about 99 slaps and 1 kiss..
Poor chap getting smacked all through the movie!

I just think KK's sung this song brilliantly and with amazing passion.. I guess it just shows in all the songs he sings. He is undoubtedly my current favorite.

The music of the song is simple and slow.. it's a nice love song :)

Also, pay attention to the 'Yeah yeah' when KK sings the chorus (Khuda jane..) sounds nice!

The video looks fabulous maybe because it's shot at very picturesque locations and to add to it.. you have the good looking Ranbir Kapoor :)

It's got a different feel to it - I would say Robotish.. maybe because we are about to take the time machine and get right into 2050!! Oh my god.. !

The movie wasn't too great.. infact I feel bad about the amount of money that's been put into this film.. and Harman Baweja - I think he is a "not - bad" version of Hrithik Roshan.. but Hrithik will be Hrithik undoubtedly.

The song's got a different style..and yes I also like the trademark step of the song :)

Soft, sweet melody is how I'd define this song.
When I listen to it, it reminds me of Musu musu from Pyar Mein Kabhi Kabhi.. not because of the music but maybe because of the fact of boy trying to cheer up the girl kind of lyrics.

Jaane tu ya jaane na is Aamir Khan's nephew's (Imran Khan) debut film.. and I think he should be good. The film also looks like a typical romantic drama.. I'll watch it for sure :) and I really like the lyrics of the song too.. so here goes:

Pretty woman.. dekho dekho na and Kajra Re.. is what comes to my mind when I finish hearing this song. I guess it's because it's composed and sung by the same trio.

Nihaal ho gayi.. is a nice fun song, full of energy and high pitched.. very well sung by Shankar Mahadevan.. he is one truly talented singer who can do good classical singing and in the context of the song.. I think it's about how a complicated life gets sorted or atleast they think it's sorted after .. that ek nazar :) I really don't know how..
and then things all seem nice and happening.. like how it happens in "Kuch to hua hai" .. Kal Ho Naa Ho - remember?

It's a nice song, listen and feel good :)

Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, Thoda Life Thoda Magic.. Same same but different movies with slightly but different titles.. I wonder how that happened and if you happen to watch trailors of hindi films, you'll probably catch these two within little time.

In the film Rani Mukerji plays a fairy who does not know how and what is love.. and I'm guessing Saif who finally does fall in love.. falls for Rani.. Oh my.. this somehow reminds me of an English movie which starred Resse Witherspoon called "Just Like Heaven"..and I wouldn't be surprised if thoda pyaar.. turns out to be similar.

Thinking of lazy lamhe.. the monsoons and winter (though Mumbai doesn't really have "winter") are the times when you do really feel lazy.. or a sunday morning :)
The remix of the song is what I like.. courtest Dj Aqeel.. it's got a lot of beats which have featured in his recent Waada Karo remix (Powerplay 2.).. but, I still like it.

You should listen to this version of the song.. it's got nice beats and very well sung too. A total music song for me.

By far the most tapori song this year is what I think of Dil Dance Maare!
This song has been playing quite a bit and yes, it hasn't featured till date because I never really thought the song was any great when I first heard it.. but I guess some songs are liked a little more when they get a little popular.. and I guess the case is the same.

Akshay Kumar and Saif look whacked in the blonde avataar.. but Kareena still carried it off pretty well is what I think..

Coming to the music of the song.. the beginning with the harmonium just takes me back to Bidi Jalaile from Omkara.. which also had quite a bit of the harmonium playing.. I guess it's the "tapori" kind of touch given to the song.. it's got good beats and the nice guitar music too.. It's a good blend of Indian and Western beats.. also maybe because of the blondes that feature in the song besides the Bollywood stars..

All in all.. I think the song makes me happy in my heart when I hear the song :)

He truly was the saving grace in the film..

I actually like the whistle playing very prominently in the beginning.. it reminds me of Sport's day in school.. maybe not a very nice comparison but well..
This indeed is a foot-tapping number from Race which was full of twists and turns.. maybe a little too much for one single film.. but well it was good entertainment.

Saif, Bipasha, Akshaye Khanna and Katrina Kaif all look nice in the song.
It's also been picturised well.. what a farmhouse.. whoever's it is :)

Coming to the playback singers.. I think KK tops my list now since Sonu Nigam is a little out of action.. KK's been coming up with some pretty good songs in the recent past.. not to forget Alvida(Life..In A Metro) and Kya Mujhe Pyar Hai (Woh Lamhe) - a couple of my favorites.

Dekho Nashe Mein -- also reminds me of the song from Tum Bin - Thoda Daroo Vich Pyar.. maybe because of the association of alcohol and fun!

It's a nice dance song.. get it for sure!

A simple romantic melodious duet is how I'd define this song..
It's simply a typical romantic song which you'd find in any and every Yash Raj film. I guess it's just their style.. this reminds me of Bol Na Halke Halke from Jhoom Barabar Jhoom.. not in terms of music or singing style - but just the genre - romance.

Honestly, I didn't think the song was any great when I heard it the first time.. but then I heard it again and now.. I just love it. It's got amazing music in terms of the flute, santoor, harmonica and the guitar..
And.. the music peace in between the two verses is simply divine!

Dil haara is an absolute musical delight.. well sung and it's got good beats too..
Love the initial beats of the electronic guitar with the "Oho" followed.. sounds really catchy.

Dil Haara is the best track according to me in the entire album.. and is a nice blend of traditional and western music.. with a nice feel to it right at the end.. where it's quick!

Saif and Kareena look nice in the song and the film.. but Akshay Kumar is the best thing in the movie whom you should watch out for.

I didn't care much for the movie.. but I like the title song.. it's quite senseless if you listen to it.. but the remixed version of the song which is more like a "Promo" song and also features at the end of the movie with the credits - picturised on Raghav Sachar and the movie actors too has some nice groovy beats to it.
I also think Raghav Sachar is an amazingly talented musician and plays almost 30 music instruments!! .. he's cute too :)

Good blend of beats, hip-hop and the old hindi movie touch with the slight nasal singing style is what according to me makes the song a winner. This is the song which is filmed on Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif who danced brilliantly!
When I watched the film, I didn't think the song was any great.. but then heard it again and it just grows on you..

Class, style, eye candy and a whole lot of twists is what Race is about. Though, the film does have mixed reviews.. good, bad, ugly.
Saif Ali Khan is one actor who has changed drastically over years and is one actor who can give SRK and Akshay Kumar a run for their money. He looks good in the film, danced well and has done a good job. Akshaye Khanna too is a great artist.
Amongst the women - I thought Bipasha Basu looked good.

Race Saanson Ki is a song I really like because of the music - totally kick ass!
I remember stating this earlier - that I used to find the sound of the electronic guitar - noise.
Today, I do enjoy listening to it. The other thing that keeps the song going is the chorus:

The Kilogram mix (done by DJ K &G) of this song is simply addictive! I've been hearing this song almost on repeat for quite a few days and still not bored! It's got a nice beat to it, English music kind of feel and completely foot-tapping.

The original version though is in a league of it's own. Starts with the guitar which I love! It is a sad song if you listen to the lyrics - all about momentarily love and all that but for me this song is on my favorites list because of the music. Simply outstanding!
Kamran Ahmed has also done complete justice to the song - originally from Pakistan (Adnan Sami, Atif Aslam, Shafqat Amanat Ali of Fuzon and now Kamran Ahmed - amazing talent is what I think).

This song is a "music song" for sure.. more than the lyrics and yes, it does remind me a little bit of "Alvida" from the movie 'Life in a Metro'. Could be because of the same team of artists (KK, Pritam & Sayeed Quadri).

More than the original which is sweeter (more romantic) and has more instruments playing, I like the "Power Ballad" which is like 2 notches higher, intense and has moments which are light, slow and then loud!

If you pay attention to the lyrics, it's about winning the trust of a person which can take ages but a moment to lose it. It's about winning someones heart, trust and a little respect from someone and then finding reasons why things went wrong..

Speaking of Jashn - e - Bahaara (Jashan - e - Baharaan) it actually is a festival celebrated in Pakistan (primarily Lahore) and is also referred to as Basant which marks the coming of Spring.
The arrival of Spring was an important event for all farmers and was welcomed with a celebration, hence the origins of Jashn (celebration) Baharan (spring).

Interesting peace of information that.. but I honestly didn't see any association with the festival in the movie except for the fact that we are talking about pretty flowers and surroundings.

The lines I like from the song are:

Because that's the chorus of the song :)

This also reminds me of another song called "Suno Na" from the movie "Jhankaar Beats" where there are similar lines like this.. Door hokar bhi door tum nahin ho, Paas ho lekin, paas kyun nahi ho.. tanha tanha samaa, mehki mehki hawaa.. kehraa hai jahaan, suno naa

Are we getting repititive and is this same same but different? :)
Also, if you pay attention to the music and beats of Jashn - e - Bahaara you'll find some resemblance to the song "Aisa Lagta Hai" from the film "Refugee" which is an Anu Malik composition...

It's a nice peaceful and melodious song.. the Instrumental (Flute) version of the song is simply divine.. you should get hold of both and listen to them for sure!

Jodhaa Akbar is one film that has gone through a whole lot of controversies right from the releasr of the film in certain states, to the actual history and facts about Jodhabai and who was actually Akbar's wife.

I watched the film and think it's a film you can sit through once. It is pretty long and is three and a half hours long! Ashutosh Gowariker does make good films (Lagaan, Swades) but seriously needs to cut down on the length! Back to Jodhaa Akbar, Hrithik Roshan exceeded my expectations and carried off the role really well.. I really didn't think he could play a brave warrior so well! Aishwarya Rai - was alright.. looked nice though.

Coming to the song - I like Khwaja Mere Khwaja simply for the music and the way it's been sung.
Composed and sung by A.R.Rahman, I think he has done full justice to it but I can't help but be reminded of "Piya Haji Ali" from Fiza, "Kehna Hi Kya" from Bombay and also "Aye Hairathe" from Guru.

I just feel they all have a similar blend of music, lyrics and the way they've been executed.. I guess what's the common link between these songs is A.R. Rahman himself. That's from the music point of view..
From the lyrics point of view.. I do not understand Urdu but happened to come across this person's blog where the lyrics of the song are explained in great detail.

Even from the promos of U, Me Aur Hum it looks like a boy meets girl (waitress?) and it's love at first sight for Ajay Devgan.. I guess that's just the beginning and U, Me Aur Hum is more about making your love last longer and making relationships work.
It's about life after two people meet and fall in love and how from U and Me it becomes Hum (Us).. it's all about how you need to compromise and adjust to make things work for you.

Who said life was a bed of roses ? :)
