Tu Meri Dost Hai - Yuvvraaj

Playback - Benny Dayal, A. R. Rahman & Shreya Ghoshal

Music - A. R. Rahman

Lyrics - Gulzar

Yuvvraaj was one of the biggest films for Subhash Ghai and eagerly awaited by a lot of people and apparently didn't live up to people's expectations.

The overall music also, grows only after a while and that too if you persist!
Tu Meri Dost Hai is a song I like because of the music which is fantastic.
The violon + the woooo sound awesome and take the song on a total high when it starts.

Benny Dayal features on my blog for the second post in a row! Totally unintentional..
Kaise Mujhe is another recent hit song in his kitty. Benny Dayal is a Keralite and also sang for Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na (Pappu Can't Dance & Nazrein Milana).

Lots of good talent, new singers and musicians in Bollywood. Good to hear!

Tu Meri Dost Hai - must listen for all "music" lovers.

Kaise Mujhe - Ghajini

Playback - Benny Dayal, Shreya Ghoshal

Music - A. R. Rahman

Lyrics - Prasoon Joshi

Sometimes destiny prevails and you don't know how things happened and why they happened.. but you're glad they did!

That's what Kaise Mujhe is about..it's about how he (Aamir Khan) can't figure how he got the girl :) which is played by Asin who is a top actress in South India.. I thought she was a nice fresh face and a pleasant change from the current trio of Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif & Priyanka Chopra!

Kaise Mujhe is a melow, slow song which will grow on you over time.. it's got this nice beat in the background which is nice and is also there in the song Tanhayee from Dil Chahta Hai if you listen closely.. nice piano beats to end it.. this is the only other song I really like from Ghajini besides Guzarish..

I truly think A.R. Rahman music is the kind which takes some time before it gets hooked!

Recommendation : Go for it! Nice song.

Chandni Chowk To China - Chandni Chowk To China

Playback - Anushka Manchanda, Neeraj Sridhar, Shankar Mahadevan

Music - Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Bappi Lahiri, Kailash Kher, Naresh Paresh,Bohemia

Lyrics - Kailash Kher, Rajat Arora, Bohemia, Shailey Shailendra & Rajat Arora

Left, left, left right, left, right, left!
This song somehow reminds me of march past in school! I guess it's the style in which the song is sung, especially the "From A Chandni Chowk To China, Dekha Kabhi Tune Hai Aaina..."

I also like the Haiyaaa part quite a bit!
Differently sung song, with a dash of chinese style in it.. and yes, lots of people involved - Singers, Musicians, Writers and the cast!

Chandni Chowk To China according to various reports floating around is about Akshay Kumar's life and his struggle before he became a successful actor.. from Delhi to Bangkok..check out more info about Akshay Kumar here.

Recommendation : worth a listen..

Dance Pe Chance - Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

Playback - Sunidhi Chauhan

Music - Salil - Sulaiman

Lyrics - Jaideep Sahni

1, 2, 3, 4 and 5,6,7,8.. take it from the top!
Dance, dance and learning how to dance is what Dance Pe Chance is about when you have two left feet and are learning how to dance..

I like the music (drum beats, guitar & the others) in the song and the Punjabi bit that's incorporated in between verses.. sounds good!

Thinking about the title of the song, Dance Pe Chance is making merry with Dance.. BUT,
Chance Pe Dance, is dancing away when you get an opportunity!

So.. make the most of your chance.. dance.. and listen to Dance Pe Chance!

Uthale Ya Phenk De - Dil Kabaddi

Playback - Sachin Gupta & Aditya Jassi

Music - Sachin Gupta

Lyrics - Virag Mishra

I got a ring on my finger but my heart wana swing..
That's a brutal fact about marriages and relationships today.
Everyone's in it for convenience, money or no choice.. whatever it is,
it's either you take it or leave it.

Uthale Ya Phenk De's got nice groovy music + interesting lyrics which I think are very true :

Naa My Life Is A Missed Call, Tere Mere Beech Mein Hain China Ki Wall
...China ki wall! :)

Ab To Neighbour Ka Husband Bhi, Achchha Lagta Hain
Friend Ki Wife Ka Kutta Bhi, Beautiful Lagta Hain
...when you're fedup with what you have, grass gets very green on the other side!

Duniyaa Bhar Mein Sab Kude, I Wanna Job You Wanna Job
Hawwa Ka Hot Is Gubbar Mein, I Wanna A Bomb You Wanna Bomb
Pehle To Home Science Ki Kami Hain Wao Wao
Meri Inch Bhi Hain Jyada , To Ghataao
Kaisa Hain Confusion , Bachaao Bachaao Bachaao..
Uthale Ya Phenk De , Lele Ya Chhod De
..... Frustration at it's peak!! My way or the high way!

O Laa O Laae, Uthale Ya Phenk De, Lele Ya Chhod De...

Dil Kabaddi - was an average film.. Irrfan Khan was good anyway and this song's worth a listen..

Ehsaan - Dil Kabaddi

Playback - Sachin Gupta, Jaspreet Singh

Music - Sachin Gupta

Lyrics - Virag Mishra

Slow song, lots of emotion, nice music and a lot of reasoning as to why things happened..
The bad part is, the song doesn't feature in the film and is just like another 'promo' song!
Filmed on Rahul Khanna & Soha Ali Khan (reminded me a little of the title song of the movie 'Fiza'.. tu hawa hai, fiza hai.. that one!) I guess it's because of the same blue color outfit worn by Soha & Karisma Kapoor in each of these songs..

This song is a good hear.. should add it to your playlist.

Everythings Gonna Be Alright - Jumbo

Playback - Kunal Ganjawala

Music - Ram Sampat

Lyrics - Munna Dhiman, Asif Ali Beg, Israr Ansari

This song just makes me want to sing it like an anthem - "Everythings Gona Be Alright!"
Akshay Kumar looks sooo good.. and the song sounds good too.. so just sing along..

Sendin out a message
Sendin out a message to my people
This Is Got A Message
This Is Got A Message For My People
Jab Tab Dil Mein Faith
This World Is A Lovely Place
Dil Mein Rakhna To Fight
Everythings Gona Be Alrite
Har Pal Woh Hai Tere Saaath
Jab Tak Tu Hai Uske Saath
To Hai Darne Ki Kya Baat
Everythings Gona Be Allrite
Tu Mera Dil.. Tu Meri Jaan..
And I Just Wana Let You Know...
Everythings Gona Be Allrite Wow O
Jab Tab Hum Side By Side
Everythings Gona Be Allrite

And.. don't forget to watch it here:

Soniyo (From The Heart) - Raaz - The Mystery Continues..

Playback - Krishna

Music - Raju Singh

Lyrics - Sayeed Quadri

Sweet, soft and classical is how I'd describe this version of Soniyo.
It's got these beats at the beginning of the song which remind me a little of Baatein Kuch Ankahi Si (Life in a Metro...)and I guess it's just the style of music which makes me think so.

The Acoustic guitar sounds awesome and is 1 big reason I like the song.

O Sun Le Yaa Padh Le Tu, Meri Khamoshi
Hai Jarurat Teri Saanson Jaisi
Tujh Se Hi Sab Kuch Mila..
Ek Tu Nahi To Mera Yahan Kuch Bhi Nahi
Tu Dede Mera Saath Tham Le Haath
Chahe Jo Bhi Ho Baat
Tu Bas De De Mera Saath
Mera Saath Mera Saath

These lines take me back to an all time favorite song of so many people called 'Jab koi baat bigad jaye' from the film 'Jurm' where it's all about your partner giving you support whatever the face of life.. good/bad/ugly..

Soniyo (the original version) is sung by Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal & Neeraj Sridhar (English vocals) which have the English song touch and is a little chirpier a version.. a little more upbeat - ofcourse because it's Sonu Nigam singing! :)

I'm still hooked to Maahi + Soniyo from this album.. and still exploring.. will come back for more! Till then.. listen to Soniyooo..

Maahi - Raaz - The Mystery Continues...

Playback - Toshi

Music - Toshi - Sharib

Lyrics - Sayeed Quadri

How often does it happen that you meet someone and feel an instant connect? Rare.. isn't it?
Maahi is all about this feeling where you meet that special someone and then feel like, yes! this is the person I've always been looking for...

Sung with a lot of passion by Toshi Sabri (of STAR Voice of India fame) this song is sure to get him a lot more recognition considering it's a sequel to Raaz which starred Dino Morea & Bipasha Basu which was a box-office blockbuster and had great music as well.

Raaz - The Mystery Continues... stars Emraan Hashmi and Kangana Ranaut where in Emraan Hashmi plays a painter who can forsee Kangana's future in the form of his paintings - freaky!

Maahi also has a second version called (Rock with Me) which has got nice guitar beats at the beginning like the original (sounds gooood!) and more of drums & music to give it the rock effect.
Between the 2 versions, I think the original is a little peaceful and the rock version just seems louder. Both have their own style.. and will linger.

However, Raaz - The Mystery - directed by Mohit Suri looks like a good thriller/horror flick which I will not watch :)

Enjoy the music though.. Maahi is surely worth a listen, it grows on you the more you listen to it.. so do give it a second chance.

Phir Milenge - Rab Ne Banadi Jodi

Playback - Sonu Nigam

Music - Salim - Sulaiman

Lyrics - Jaideep Sahni

This song is a total surprise in the movie and is brilliant. Nice sets, good music, and a very different style of using or "being inspired" by old songs ... and no, it's not even a remix!

The song features the man himself - SRK with quite a few leading ladies of Bollywood.
Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta, Lara Dutta & Bipasha Basu... but undoubtedly, SRK and Kajol are unbeatable is what I think.. they just look fab together!

Sung by Sonu Nigam - my all time favorite, who's done total justice to the song.. full of energy and fun to listen to.

The nice line from the song is "Hum hain rahi pyaar ke, phir milenge chalte chalte"
Never say goodbye.. always say.. see you and we'll meet again.. on our way :)

P.S. SRK was really good as Surinder Sahni (Suri) & I also think Tujhme Rab Dikhta Hai is a top song of the year 2008.
