Jashn - e- Bahaara - Jodhaa Akbar

Playback - Javed Ali

Music - A.R. Rahman

Lyrics - Javed Akhtar

Speaking of Jashn - e - Bahaara (Jashan - e - Baharaan) it actually is a festival celebrated in Pakistan (primarily Lahore) and is also referred to as Basant which marks the coming of Spring.
The arrival of Spring was an important event for all farmers and was welcomed with a celebration, hence the origins of Jashn (celebration) Baharan (spring).
More info here.

Interesting peace of information that.. but I honestly didn't see any association with the festival in the movie except for the fact that we are talking about pretty flowers and surroundings.

The lines I like from the song are:

(Kehne ko Jashan-e-bahara hai
Ishq yeh dekhke hairaan hai)

Because that's the chorus of the song :)

Kaise kahen kya hai sitam
Sochte hai abb yeh hum
Koi kaise kahen woh hai ya nahi humare
Karte to hai saath safar
Fasle hain phir bhi magar
Jaise milte nahi kisi dariya ke do kinare
Pass hain phir bhi paas nahi
Humko yeh gum raas nahi
Seeshe ki ek diware hai jaise darmiyan

From the above lines.. it's implied that we are close and yet far.. just like to shores of the river which never meet.. like flowers which are blossoming but don't blossom..
This also reminds me of another song called "Suno Na" from the movie "Jhankaar Beats" where there are similar lines like this.. Door hokar bhi door tum nahin ho, Paas ho lekin, paas kyun nahi ho.. tanha tanha samaa, mehki mehki hawaa.. kehraa hai jahaan, suno naa

Are we getting repititive and is this same same but different? :)
Also, if you pay attention to the music and beats of Jashn - e - Bahaara you'll find some resemblance to the song "Aisa Lagta Hai" from the film "Refugee" which is an Anu Malik composition...

It's a nice peaceful and melodious song.. the Instrumental (Flute) version of the song is simply divine.. you should get hold of both and listen to them for sure!

You dont have to say anything..
Beats of Jashn - e - Bahaara doesnt resembles a bit with "Aisa Lagta Hai" from the film "Refugee". And above all Refugee is not composed by Mentor ARR, its been done by Anu Malik..

well nouresh, thanks for the info about Anu Malik having composed the music of Refugee.

And i'm not saying that the beats are the same, the beginning of the song has the same sound if u listen to it again.. you probably might think so.. if not.. each one has a different point of view :)
