Munni Badnaam - Dabangg

Playback - Mamta Sharma & Aishwarya

Music - Sajid - Wajid

Lyrics - Jalees Sherwani

Munni Badnaam is an awesome song.. full on masala/item song totally bollywood style!

Features Malaika Arora Khan who carries of the song very well.. I think it's her next big thing post Chhaiya Chhaiya from Dil Se.

Salman Khan is simply awesome in the film as Robin Hood Pandey.. good to see him back in form :)

Crazy lyrics.. and a typical bachelor's night out set up.. Munni completely fits the "dhinchak" kind of genre.

This track is going to play in dance parties for a long time to come.. tune into it here.

Bin Tere - I Hate Luv Storys

Playback - Sunidhi Chauhan & Shafqat Amanat Ali

Music - Vishal - Shekhar

Lyrics - Anvita Dutt Guptan, Kumaar, Vishal Dadlani

Blogging after ages.. and it feels good to be back and that too with another 'Bin Tere'!

Seems like it's the favorite song title for composers in Bollywood..

All said and done about the movie, people hated the film, what was Karan Johar thinking when he decided to produce the film, etc.. etc..

I still haven't watched it.. but will sometime soon :)

Shafqat Amanat Ali - the lead vocalist of the popular band 'Fuzon' has sung the song beautifully and gives it so much feel. There's something unusual about the singers from Pakistan.. be it Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and many more.. it's nice to see singers making their way to Bollywood and making it big!

Love the lyrics..
Lost and lonely coz you’re the only one
That knows me and I can’t be without you
Lost and lonely coz you’re the only one
That knows me and I can’t be without you

Hai kya yeh jo tere mere darmiyaan hai
Andekhi ansuni koi dastaan hai
Hai kya yeh jo tere mere darmiyaan hai
Andekhi ansuni koi dastaan hai
Lagne lagi, ab zindagi khaali
Hai meri
Lagne lagi har saans bhi khaali (lost and lonely)
Bin tere, bin tere, bin tere (lost and lonely)
Koi khalish hai hawayon mein bin tere (lost and lonely)
Bin tere, bin tere, bin tere (lost and lonely)
Koi khalish hai hawayon mein bin tere (lost and lonely)

Ajnabi se huye kyun pal saare
Yeh nazar se nazar yeh milaate hi nahin
Ik gani dehaayi cha gayi hai
Manzilein raaston mein hi gum hone lagi
Ho gayi ansuni har dua ab meri
Reh gayi ankahi bin tere (lost and lonely)
Bin tere, bin tere, bin tere (lost and lonely)
Koi khalish hai hawayon mein bin tere (lost and lonely)
Bin tere, bin tere, bin tere (lost and lonely)
Koi khalish hai hawayon mein bin tere (lost and lonely)

Raah mein roshni ni hai kyun haath choda
Iss taraf shaam ne kyun hai apna muh moda
Yun ke har subah ik bereham si baat ban gayi
Hai kya yeh jo tere mere darmiyaan hai
Andekhi ansuni koi dastaan hai
Lagne lagi, ab zindagi khaali khaali
Lagne lagi har saans bhi khaali (lost and lonely)
Bin tere, bin tere, bin tere (lost and lonely)
Koi khalish hai hawayon mein bin tere (lost and lonely)
Bin tere, bin tere, bin tere (lost and lonely)
Koi khalish hai hawayon mein bin tere (lost and lonely)
Bin tere, bin tere, bin tere (lost and lonely)
Koi khalish hai hawayon mein bin tere .. lost and lonely ..
lost and lonely…lost and lonely

It's all about the pain and emptiness one feels when your loved one is away.. I'm sure - it's a feeling you'd wanna avoid.

Enjoy the song.. listen to it here.

Sajdaa - My Name Is Khan

Playback - Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Shankar Mahadevan & Richa Sharma

Music - Shankar - Ehsaan - Loy

Lyrics -Niranjan Iyengar

My Name is Khan - the movie that brought together one of the most magical onscreen pairs of Shahrukh Khan & Kajol after a span of 10 years post Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (and now there's an animated version - Koochie Koochie Hota Hai in the pipeline!).

Drama, controversies, politics, democracy and freedom of speech - it all preceded the release of the film!

Shifting focus to the song, Sajdaa is one of my favorite tracks from this album and is filmed during the wedding scene of Rizwan Khan (SRK) and Mandira (Kajol - looks fab!).

It's got this whole Sufi feel to it and an in depth and soulful voice to it presented by Richa Sharma whose claim to fame was the song from Taal called Ni main samajh gayi..

Love the instrumental in between verses.. and just the whole feel of the song!

It's all about surrendering yourself in honor of the one you love..

Love the lines..

teri kaali akhiyone se jind meri jaage
dhadkan se tez daudoon sapnon se aage
ab jaan lut jaye yeh jahaan chhoot jaye
sang pyaar rahe main rahoon na rahoon

sajdaa tera sajdaa
din rain karoon naahi chain karoon
sajdaa tera sajdaa

And ofcourse.. the video's nice too.. watch it here:

Uff Teri Ada - Karthik Calling Karthik

Playback - Shankar Mahadevan & Alyssa Mendonsa

Music - Shankar - Ehsaan - Loy

Lyrics - Javed Akhtar

Praise finally has a new style.. That's what Uff teri ada is from Karthik Calling Karthik!

Uff teri ada, I like the way you move

Oh, your actions, I like the way you move

Uff tera badan, I like to see you groove

Oh, your body, I like to see you groove

Uff teri nazar, it says I want to dance with you!

Oh, your looks, it says I want to dance with you

Nice mix of hindi + english lyrics to express interest :)

Besides the praises which forms part of the chorus, there's a lot of energy and dance.
It's all about letting lose, getting drunk, being free and dancing!
Dance till you let your wishes out, dance till you drop and dance till you want to :)

The track's a good fusion of Indian beats of the santoor and some techno beats which makes you groove to the music. It's a song that one would definitely want to dance to!

It's different that Farhan Akhtar doesn't want to dance - atleast from what comes across in the rushes playing on TV with this song :)

Deepika Padukone looks cute with the new hairdo.. Farhan Akhtar is all serious but still quite charming!

This song's been looping in my player for a while and I think it's going to play in dance clubs too! Looking forward to the film.. in the mean time, watch and listen here :

Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji - Ishqiya

Playback - Abhishek Naiwal

Music - Vishal Bharadwaj

Lyrics - Gulzar

Soft, sweet, romantic & melodious is what sums up Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji.
Somehow, Vishal Bharadwaj has this knack of making some outstanding and simple music which really catches onto the ear..

The more I listen to it, the more I like it :)

It's all about the human body aging, getting wrinkles, going grey and the likes.. but still, it's more like 18 till I die & my heart is still like that of a child! :)

About the music, like the harmonica (mouth organ) the most, the beats and the bagpipe and the arm-piano.. all in all it's a smooth composition :) but at the end of it.. just get the feeling that this track reminds me of another oldie track.. Ye Raatein Ye Mausam.. somehow, same same but different is what I think..

Looking forward to Ishqiya and the fantastic performances by Vidya Balan, Arshad Warsi & Naseeruddin Shah.

Listen to dil to bachcha hai ji here.
