Salman Khan is simply awesome in the film as Robin Hood Pandey.. good to see him back in form :)

Crazy lyrics.. and a typical bachelor's night out set up.. Munni completely fits the "dhinchak" kind of genre.

Seems like it's the favorite song title for composers in Bollywood..

All said and done about the movie, people hated the film, what was Karan Johar thinking when he decided to produce the film, etc.. etc..

I still haven't watched it.. but will sometime soon :)

Shafqat Amanat Ali - the lead vocalist of the popular band 'Fuzon' has sung the song beautifully and gives it so much feel. There's something unusual about the singers from Pakistan.. be it Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and many more.. it's nice to see singers making their way to Bollywood and making it big!

My Name is Khan - the movie that brought together one of the most magical onscreen pairs of Shahrukh Khan & Kajol after a span of 10 years post Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (and now there's an animated version - Koochie Koochie Hota Hai in the pipeline!).

Drama, controversies, politics, democracy and freedom of speech - it all preceded the release of the film!

Shifting focus to the song, Sajdaa is one of my favorite tracks from this album and is filmed during the wedding scene of Rizwan Khan (SRK) and Mandira (Kajol - looks fab!).

It's got this whole Sufi feel to it and an in depth and soulful voice to it presented by Richa Sharma whose claim to fame was the song from Taal called Ni main samajh gayi..

Love the instrumental in between verses.. and just the whole feel of the song!

It's all about surrendering yourself in honor of the one you love..

The track's a good fusion of Indian beats of the santoor and some techno beats which makes you groove to the music. It's a song that one would definitely want to dance to!

It's different that Farhan Akhtar doesn't want to dance - atleast from what comes across in the rushes playing on TV with this song :)

Deepika Padukone looks cute with the new hairdo.. Farhan Akhtar is all serious but still quite charming!

This song's been looping in my player for a while and I think it's going to play in dance clubs too! Looking forward to the film.. in the mean time, watch and listen here :

Soft, sweet, romantic & melodious is what sums up Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji.
Somehow, Vishal Bharadwaj has this knack of making some outstanding and simple music which really catches onto the ear..

The more I listen to it, the more I like it :)

It's all about the human body aging, getting wrinkles, going grey and the likes.. but still, it's more like 18 till I die & my heart is still like that of a child! :)

About the music, like the harmonica (mouth organ) the most, the beats and the bagpipe and the arm-piano.. all in all it's a smooth composition :) but at the end of it.. just get the feeling that this track reminds me of another oldie track.. Ye Raatein Ye Mausam.. somehow, same same but different is what I think..

Looking forward to Ishqiya and the fantastic performances by Vidya Balan, Arshad Warsi & Naseeruddin Shah.

Awesome song, awesome music & lyrics (especially the piano & violin in between verses) & extremely well sung with full feeling is what defines Iktara..

Wanted to try and write my interpretation of this song.. but stumbled upon a very well written note posted here by Amitabh Iyer which is a nice read and good explanation of the song..

My favorite lines from the song are:

Shukran Allah is a song that's peaceful, melodious & features Sonu Nigam who makes the song a winner any way :)

It's got a bit of Urdu/Arabic & English which explains what Shukran Allah means. It means thank God or the Almighty..

It's a love duet with a good blend of the flute, guitar, sounds of a payal jingling and some bit of the tabla - all in all it's a good mix and soothes the ear..

Personally, I thought the Saif-Kareena pairing had more of a hype quotient than the so called 'chemistry'.. Saif looks worn out and old.. Kareena Kapoor looks just about ok.. but all said and done, Karan Johar has learnt the art of making films out of the "romance" genre and is producing some good movies (Wake up Sid, My Name is Khan - looks interesting) .. going the Yash Raj way :)

Shukran Allah is one of my favorite tracks.. and will be for quite a while :)

Punjabi, Hindi, English, Awesome music and some fundu lyrics is what makes Aahun Aahun an absolutely fun song! I seriously don't understand why they keep these good songs in the end of the movie with the credits!! Make way for them in the movie!

This is a trend I guess Farah Khan started with her debut movie as director - Main Hoon Naa which had a really nice song very innovatively done in the credits.. called Ye Fizaaein.

Back to Aahun Aahun, it's a song picturised on both the Saifs from the movie Love Aaj Kal. One is Saif himself and the other being Rishi Kapoor as a young lad.

Deepika Padukone and the brazilian model (Giselle Monteiro) who plays Harleen Kaur look good.. just wonder why Deepika's lip syncing the male lyrics too!

My favorite part of the song is the signature guitar tune.. and it's just a fun song to listen and dance to! :D

Aahun Aahun actually is an expression of joy and the song is about.. a lover telling his loved one to speak the truth and not destroy his life.. or something like that :)

I'll be alright, I'll be alright tu hai to tedhi medhi raahe... is what I'm reminded of when I listen to this track called Kya Karoon from Wake up Sid which I guess because both the songs share the same music composers S-E-L! Guess their style like A.R. Rahman also is getting slightly predictable!

All said and done, Kya karoon is a fun song, catchy beats and will make you want to groove to the song, tap your feet and shake your head a bit :)

Love the harmonica and guitar music which features regularly in the song..

Wake up Sid is a romantic movie starring Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma in lead roles.. interesting pairing which generated a lot of curiousity must say..

It's about a boy Sid who wakes up and I guess gets a hold on his life and wakes up to his responsibilities... will wait and watch!

Kaminey in my opinion will be a make or break kind of movie for Shahid Kapoor.. it's a double role and a Vishal Bharadwaj film who has a reputation of unusually nice hindi films..

Omkara was his last big movie which got the ball rolling for Saif Ali Khan too!

Let's wait and watch how the film does at the box-office.. in the mean time, Dhan Te Nan it is :)

If 45 retakes is what it takes to make a fantastic song.. with Saif Ali Khan finally getting the moves right.. so be it!

We Twist is a song that's been composed with the help of the Nagin tune of the Mann Dole song by the legend Hemant Kumar along with a lot of beats and dance music.
I think Pritam as a musician is a good guy who makes some good music after a lot of "inspiration" from other artists :P

But on a more serious note.. I think he does indeed come up with some great compositions.. inspired or original.. the music rocks!

We Twist is a song that's foot tapping.. for sure.. love the dhol music and the way it's sung.

High energy and rhythm by Neeraj Sridhar.. well done I'd say!

Kambakkht Ishq was a hit song from the movie 'Pyar Tune Kya Kiya' starring Fardeen Khan, Urmila Matondkar and Sonali Kulkarni .. good movie and a fantastic song indeed!

Come 2009, we have a movie with the same title.. which means "Damn Love".
When you're in it.. you're wondering if it's really happening.. when you're out of it, you want to experience it.. somehow, man is never happy!

The song also talks about how people don't want to tie the knot and hence, find ways of staying away :)

Kambakkht Ishq stars Akshay Kumar (looking great and as young..!) & Kareena Kapoor along with some Hollywood biggies in guest appearances.

Om Mangalam was the first song which featured in the promos.. post the long producer-multiplex strike! Thank God the movies are back!!

It's got a catchy tune and the mantra - Om mangalam, Bhagwan Vishnu.. reminds me of Ekta Kapoor serials - donno why..! I guess it's because of the 'dramatic feel' to it.. it's apparently the matra which is used in weddings.

The song's performed by RDB and I think they've presented the song well..
It's got good beats.. and I like the bit where they go..

99 is a film which showcases match-fixing in cricket, betting, heart break, thefts in Delhi and a set of 2 people (Kunal Khemu & Cyrus Broacha) who got duped after duping thousands of people themselves in the city of Delhi..

Fun film to watch..

Delhi Destiny is a song that's catchy with a good music beat and reminds me a little bit of Ru Ba Ru from Rang de Basanti.. don't know why :)

Sung by a budding singer, Raja Hassan who made his claim to fame post the TV Show - Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in 2007. I think he's got good style and has done justice to the song.

Haafiz Khuda and Kuchh Is Tarah are 2 songs with the same music.. that's something new for me in Bollywood music! Same same, but different :)

Sung beautifully by Mohit Chauhan and very well supported by Tulsi Kumar (daughter of Gulshan Kumar).

Both songs are kick started by Mohit Chauhan which is now a common phenomenon between all his songs.. think Masakalli (Delhi 6), Ankhon hi Ankhon (EMI).. some like it, some don't..
I personally think Mohit Chauhan is a fantastic singer.. so what if he is a little repititive.

Delving a little into the lyrics.. I like the lines from Haafiz Khuda which say..

Straight is a movie I'd recommend .. it's definitely worth a watch and I thought it was an enjoyable film. Filmed and based on "Pinu Patel" who is based in London city.. and is trying his luck with getting hooked through an arranged marriage.. but ultimately finds love!

Starring Vinay Pathak, Gul Panag, Anuj Choudhry & Sid Makkar.. Straight is a low budget film and worth it for a light hearted film experience :)

(Rediff gave it a 1* rating which is prettyyyy low!)

Kya Hua Hoo Hoo is a song which is about confusion ..
What to do, what to say,
What not to do and what not to say!

It's got this jazz kind of music and sung well.
Somehow it reminds me of a song called "Jabse hui hai shaadi" from the Sanjay Dutt - Madhuri Dixit film (Thanedaar).. which is about the fear of the to do tasks post marriage :)

It's got oomph, style and the right amount of attitude..
The nice beat of the electronic guitar to trigger the song.. and then the foot tapping beats..

Hats off to A.R. Rahman.. he somehow comes up with unusual music which just catches on!

Delhi 6 has such awesome music.. but in my opinion, the songs are wasted in the film.
They could've done a much better job with the way the songs featured and were filmed..

However, I really do like Arziyan.. and I have to admit, it's after the release of the film and me listening to the song much later. I guess it just grows on you after a while and you start appreciating the music.. fantastic use of instruments + the qawalli touch make the song a winner.

I don't understand the lyrics too much but I do like the feel of the song.. makes me feel good.

To start with, we've got one more Pakistani singer who's made their big Bollywood break.. welcome Omer Inayat. I think he's got real good talent as a singer and can modulate his voice very well and adapt well to both, English & Hindi.. and not to forget Punjabi in Tennu Le!

He does remind you just a little bit of Atif Aslam who is also another famous Pakistani singer - of Woh Lamhe & Doorie fame.

The music of this song is composed by Bappi Lahiri's son Bappa Lahiri who made his debut as solo composer for Jai Veeru (starring Fardeen Khan, Kunal Khemu, Dia Mirza amongst others) which is about 2 friends on opposite sides of the game of life :)

I wonder how the film will be.. but Jai Veeru reminds me only of Sholay and Dharmender & Amitabh Bachchan.. nobody can replace the work the 2 stalwarts of Bollywood did in that film.

Back to Tennu Le.. It's got a nice hip-hop feel and can make you groove to the music..

A much awaited film, SRK's big venture and big release post Rab Ne Banadi Jodi which didn't do much for him at the box-office.. that's Billu (shortened name from the original Billu Barber because of all the controversy and upset Barbers)..

Khudaya Khair is a very sweet, melodious song which is like the "Dream sequence" of Bollywood movies where Lara Dutta dreams of Shahrukh Khan visiting her home, she living a life of a happy housewife and the likes!

It's a pleasant song which you would want to listen to..
There are 3-4 more versions of the song.. of which one features Priyanka Chopra in an "item number" which is called You Got Me Rocking and Reeling.. it's got it's own charm though..
Khudaya Khair is sung by Monali Thakur of Indian Idol 2 fame.. (the zara zara touch me voice of the movie Race).. it's nice to see so many new singers getting an opportunity in Bollywood and some good that's coming out of the numerous reality shows on TV!!

I think - it's worth a listen!

Genda phool is actually a flower without which Hindu rituals are kind of incomplete..It's also called the French Marigold (Tagetes patula) and belongs to the daisy family of flowers.

In context to Delhi 6, Genda phool seems like a pre-wedding song where the girl has the jitters of dealing with her mother-in-law, brother-in-law and all the others who could be what we call 'evil in-laws' as shown in older hindi films and also television serials..

The concept of the song reminds me of the song from Yash Chopra's Chandni called 'Main sasural nahi jaoongi' where the to be bride's cousin is mimicking members of the groom's family at one of the wedding functions :)

Genda phool has some unusually interesting nakhras in the song like the oye hoye oye, Rekha Bhardwaj's nasal vocals.. the nice beats (like the sound of ghunghroos), some that have a hip-hop feel to it and the sounds like a whistle and foot tapping beat!

Great mix of various components and I think brilliantly executed.. A.R. Rahman after all!

If you like unusual music, you'll like Genda phool for sure.. and if you're not, you'll listen to this song after watching it in the movie :)

Extremely well sung by Ash King who is an upcoming artist (in Bollywood).. with some pretty interesting work done in the past with Hard Kaur (Look for me - Jaane Kaun Hai Wo)

We had Yuvvraaj, Ghajini, Slumdog Millionaire & Delhi-6.
Wow.. that's 4 in a row with good songs.. some typical A.R. Rahman and some just beautiful.

My current favorite is Masakalli... it's such a feel good song and is actually about a dove!
Wasn't meant to be part of the film.. but is .. and I'm glad it is..

Picturised on Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor with both of them looking nice in the promos.. I like the way AB does the forward hand move :)

Marjaani is a grandly picturised song with large dance troops, lavish sets & exquisite outfits.
Lots of color, energy and beats is what makes this song a winner.

Shahrukh Khan plays a big star in the film who goes to shoot a film in his friend's home town who is Billu (Irrfan Khan) who plays a barber.. and that's from where we get Billu Barber and how life changes.. and the rest we'll have to wait for the film!

Marjaani features Kareena Kapoor who is one of the 3 top bollywood actresses doing a dance number for Billu Barber .. the other 2 being Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra.

Lots of controversy also surrounded these dance numbers like doing the songs free of charge because it's for SRK.. well.. ya .. such are the stories of Bollywood :)

There's a Kilogram Balkan Version of Marjaani as well which has awesome violon beats at the beginning of the song.. and a much faster version. Also.. sung by K.K and Akruti Kakkar.

My recommendation - must listen.

Slumdog Millionaire is one film which has been highly talked about in the recent past.. with a lot of involvement of Indians from our very own Bollywood. Namely.. A.R. Rahman, Anil Kapoor, Irrfan Khan amongst others.

Subhash Ghai will not be a very happy man after Jai Ho is topping most music countdowns and charts and has caught on with most people..

Jai Ho was to be part of the Salman Khan starrer Yuvvraaj...

Jai Ho is a song with nice music - typical A.R.Rahman.. with a very nice tempo and feel.
It's also got a bit of Spanish lyrics in addition to the nice Hindi lines.. which talk about spending nights struggling.. and keeping the sleep away :)

Slumdog Millionaire is based on the life of a slum dweller who actually becomes a millionaire on the show 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire'.. and how he falls into trouble because it's hard to believe that a slum dweller knows all answers in a quiz show..

Let's wait for the official Indian release and I do want to watch it.. some people love it, some not so much because it shows a lot of the dark side of Mumbai city... let's wait and watch.. till then.. Jai Ho.. Jai Ho!

Shankar Mahadevan + Javed Akhtar's lyrics + S-E-L's music and picturised on Hrithik Roshan makes Baawre a total musical delight!

Baawre sounds like a Rajasthani folk song in some parts with words like 'maaro, thaaro & baawre'. If you listen to the verses carefully and the music playing along, you'll find some resemblance to the songs of "Mission Kashmir".

All in all, Baawre is a well packaged song and I think Hrithik Roshan is like a dancing god!
Looks great, dances great & just lights up the screen :)

There is a remix version of this song which is also pretty good.. I actually at times enjoy it more than the original composition because of the faster beats!

Luck By Chance is Farhan Akhtar's sister, Zoya Akhtar's debut film as director.. she did contribute to Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd as producer and Bride & Prejudice as lyricist!

In Sapno se bhare naina, I really like the background score and the beats with which the song starts.. reminds me of Jaane Kyun (Dil Chahta Hai) - similar beats there too.. listen to both songs back to back and you'll know what I mean .. maybe it's a particular instrument which is why it seems similar.

My recommendation - do listen to Sapno se bhare naina & live your dreams!

The overall music also, grows only after a while and that too if you persist!
Tu Meri Dost Hai is a song I like because of the music which is fantastic.
The violon + the woooo sound awesome and take the song on a total high when it starts.

Benny Dayal features on my blog for the second post in a row! Totally unintentional..
Kaise Mujhe is another recent hit song in his kitty. Benny Dayal is a Keralite and also sang for Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na (Pappu Can't Dance & Nazrein Milana).

Lots of good talent, new singers and musicians in Bollywood. Good to hear!

That's what Kaise Mujhe is about..it's about how he (Aamir Khan) can't figure how he got the girl :) which is played by Asin who is a top actress in South India.. I thought she was a nice fresh face and a pleasant change from the current trio of Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif & Priyanka Chopra!

Kaise Mujhe is a melow, slow song which will grow on you over time.. it's got this nice beat in the background which is nice and is also there in the song Tanhayee from Dil Chahta Hai if you listen closely.. nice piano beats to end it.. this is the only other song I really like from Ghajini besides Guzarish..

I truly think A.R. Rahman music is the kind which takes some time before it gets hooked!

Recommendation : Go for it! Nice song.

Sweet, soft and classical is how I'd describe this version of Soniyo.
It's got these beats at the beginning of the song which remind me a little of Baatein Kuch Ankahi Si (Life in a Metro...)and I guess it's just the style of music which makes me think so.

The Acoustic guitar sounds awesome and is 1 big reason I like the song.

How often does it happen that you meet someone and feel an instant connect? Rare.. isn't it?
Maahi is all about this feeling where you meet that special someone and then feel like, yes! this is the person I've always been looking for...

Sung with a lot of passion by Toshi Sabri (of STAR Voice of India fame) this song is sure to get him a lot more recognition considering it's a sequel to Raaz which starred Dino Morea & Bipasha Basu which was a box-office blockbuster and had great music as well.

Raaz - The Mystery Continues... stars Emraan Hashmi and Kangana Ranaut where in Emraan Hashmi plays a painter who can forsee Kangana's future in the form of his paintings - freaky!

Maahi also has a second version called (Rock with Me) which has got nice guitar beats at the beginning like the original (sounds gooood!) and more of drums & music to give it the rock effect.
Between the 2 versions, I think the original is a little peaceful and the rock version just seems louder. Both have their own style.. and will linger.

However, Raaz - The Mystery - directed by Mohit Suri looks like a good thriller/horror flick which I will not watch :)

Enjoy the music though.. Maahi is surely worth a listen, it grows on you the more you listen to it.. so do give it a second chance.

This song is a total surprise in the movie and is brilliant. Nice sets, good music, and a very different style of using or "being inspired" by old songs ... and no, it's not even a remix!

The song features the man himself - SRK with quite a few leading ladies of Bollywood.
Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta, Lara Dutta & Bipasha Basu... but undoubtedly, SRK and Kajol are unbeatable is what I think.. they just look fab together!

Sung by Sonu Nigam - my all time favorite, who's done total justice to the song.. full of energy and fun to listen to.

The nice line from the song is "Hum hain rahi pyaar ke, phir milenge chalte chalte"
Never say goodbye.. always say.. see you and we'll meet again.. on our way :)

P.S. SRK was really good as Surinder Sahni (Suri) & I also think Tujhme Rab Dikhta Hai is a top song of the year 2008.

Guzarish is sung by Javed Ali of Jashn - e - Bahaara fame and I think he has done justice to both songs and it's good to hear some new voices being repeated.

Also, this is Aamir Khan's big movie this year which apparently is a remake of a South Indian film which indeed looks like a mix of a little romance and lotsa action.

Coming to the video of Guzarish, it reminds me of Suraj hua madham from K3G.. don't know.. just some resemblance.

It's a nice song nevertheless and it's about the feeling of being complete when a wish is fulfilled when someone you desire becomes yours.

I think, it's a song that will linger for a while..

Strange title of the song.. sizzling music and not so sizzling Shilpa Shetty is what comprises Shutup and Bounce. It's the opening song of the film with the titles and not much connection to the film reall except the fact of John Abraham doing a photo shoot with some beach babes - maybe the Baywatch effect.

This is the first time I think Shilpa Shetty features in anything associated with the 'Karan Johar' camp.. good for her! I seriously think Shilpa Shetty gained more than lost from 'Big Brother' .. she launched a signature perfume, a Yoga DVD, hosted the second second season of Big Boss, a huge fan base in the UK and.. a lover.

Good going.. and I hope things go well for her in the future too.. but .. when I compare her with Priyanka Chopra who plays the female lead in the film.. she doesn't look so hot..

.. well ya.. just being honest.

The music in Shutup and Bounce is groovy, catchy and fast (pay attention to the music in between verses).

What I like the most about the song is the last bit.. which just speedens the song.
All in all - Awesome music by Vishal - Shekhar... and the good thing is - ALL Dostana songs feature on this blog :)

It's slow, melodious and a feel good song.

P.S. I actually began to like the song after listening to it on various Radio stations which explains why the song is up here way after the promo song happened and the film release (which in my opinion was a silly film) - totally missable.

Very nice beats, good music & the three of them (Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham & Priyanka Chopra) look outstanding!

The movie was a good watch and hilarious in the first half.
Kiron Kher & Sushmita Mukherji were good in the small roles they had.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is a long awaited film from the Yash Raj camp which releases on 12th December starring Shahrukh Khan and female debutante Anushka Sharma (I personally don't think she's that great - atleast from what I see in the promos).

SRK also, has a release after his last hit Om Shanti Om which released around Diwali last year and I'm sure he's banking big time on this film after Akshay Kumar amongst others giving him a run for his monies :)

Talking about Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai - I think this song is a beautiful, soulful melody and sung sooo well by Roopkumar Rathod (of Tere Liye fame from Veer - Zaara).

It's got sweet lyrics and is a typical Yash Raj Films kinda song... with a little Punjabi touch with the lines Vasdi vasdi vasdi, dil di dil di vasdi...

The song takes of with a couple of santoor beats which sound excellent followed by the flute a little later in the song.. good job by Salim-Sulaiman (good to see new compositions from them.. not to forget Aaja Nach le & the very recent Fashion).

Just happened to watch the movie today.. thought it was just about OK.. a little boring too.
However, the message that the film tries to give to the people of today is that when you borrow money, be responsible enough to repay it and don't shy away from responsibility.

Sanjay Dutt was good given the role he had.. but he's almost - not there in the first half of the film!

Coming to the song Aankhon hi aankhon mein - I think it's an awesome love/mushy song.
Well sung by Mohit Chauhan (who makes a brief appearance at the start of the song).

What I really like about the song is the guitar, the whistle and the light beats.
Also, the song's been shot very nicely with a nice set which is sea-side and all lit up!
(I think it's H2O in Chowpatty, Mumbai - Suniel Shetty's venture where they have water sports and a pretty restaurant too.. called Salt Water Grill).

If you pay attention to the lyrics, it's all about how there might be so many things you may want to say to the person you love.. but somehow you're unable to express when the person's with you.. and you're lost for words! That's what happens to Sanjay Dutt in the film :)

Soulful, melodious and full of passion is what I think of Mar Jawaan from the film fashion.
Very well executed in terms of music by Salim - Sulaiman (they also directed & Composed the music for Aaja Nachle..which had good music too).

If I were to categorise Mar Jawaan.. it reminds me of O re piya of Aaja Nachle..
Somehow I do find some resemblance in the two.. maybe because they are both compositions of the same music directors.

I simply love the music with which the song starts.. the piano.. sounds very peaceful which is followed by lyrics in another language.. which I have no idea about but I think it sounds amazing.

The Santoor is also sounds great with light notes at a few instances of the song...

All in all.. this song is one of my current favorites.. and you definitely need a mood to listen to this kind of music and this song.. and you definitely should give it a shot!

The most rocking song this season is what I would call Desi Girl from Dostana.
It's picturised on Abhishek Bachchan(I really hope this film does well for him.. he really needs it), John Abraham (in a movie after a long time - last film being Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal) and Priyanka Chopra (whose last film Drona along with AB bombed at the box - office).

Desi Girl is full of josh, fast beats and a nice Punjabi feel to it.

Thinking about the lyrics of the song.. I would like to agree with the fact that there lacs of pardesi girls but at the end of it all.. a desi girl is what a guy would like to take to his parents.

Rocking song, rocking music, well picturised and I can't wait to watch the film..

One of the initial reality and talent shows on TV was aired on Channel V which lead to the formation of a girl pop band called VIVA which included 5 girls from all over India.
Of them - Anushka made a name in Bollywood with Golmaal and a couple of others and did a pretty good job of them.

Neha Bhasin who is the female playback singer of Kuch Khaas is a dropout of the VIVA band and wanted to do something on her own.. I think she did release an album of her's which I think did just about ok.. and now I think it's a good break with Fashion.

Mohit Chauhan's voice I would term as intoxicating.. and simply brilliant!
He has his own style of singing but once I did mistake one of his songs to be sung by Kunal Ganjawala...

Kuch Khaas has nice beats and also has the guitar music which will take you back to this old English song called "Hazard" by Richard Marx which is one of my all time favorites. Listen to it here if you haven't.

Kuch Khaas - is a nice, romantic melody worth listening to.

Besides the song's name.. I think it's a winner and Himesh Reshammiya is back.
He is such a favorite amongst the masses and a lot of people do love him! and ofcourse.. hate him too.

One also gets to see Urmila Matondkar in a film after a long time.. she plays Simi Garewal's role in the film.. vilainous!

Sinbad the Sailor is the last song which the band "Magik" in the film performs.. it's their last big chance and they did a wonderful job of it.

The lyrics don't make much sense to me.. but I just like the beats and the music in this track.
It's fast and fun! If you've watched the film, there's a moment where Purab Kohli (K.D. - Killer Drummer) starts playing the drums just before Arjun Rampal enters to perform - that moment was indeed killer.. very nice and very well done!

I'm actually quite amazed at how well Farhan Akhtar can sing.. I mean I never expected him to sing, and that too so many songs in the film. So now, he too is multi-tasking.. from being a director to producer to actor to singer. Wow! that's quite a lot of cost cutting I'd say.. I also think it's cool if he can do a good job in each role.

The music of this song is pretty melow in comparison with some of the other songs in the album.. I guess it's because it's more of an emotional and sad song.. more like a point in a film when u realise the importance of that someone special. Will have to wait for the movie to see if it actually is like that..

All said and done.. I think it's a nice song.. do listen to it, especially the music which goes with the O..o..wo.woo..!

Nice music, nice beats and different lyrics, or maybe a different language.

In the context of the film it's nice when in a music class each student is asked to demonstrate a peace of their own art.. everyone is playing a different instrument and how the protagonist - A Pakistani is joined by the entire class.

The movie was alright.. pretty slow and serious. I actually was scared to visit the US after watching the film!

All said and done, I like the song very much.
The remix and rock version are good too.

The video looks fabulous maybe because it's shot at very picturesque locations and to add to it.. you have the good looking Ranbir Kapoor :)

Alka Yagnik too has sung well but I think they could have got someone younger..

Soft, sweet melody is how I'd define this song.
When I listen to it, it reminds me of Musu musu from Pyar Mein Kabhi Kabhi.. not because of the music but maybe because of the fact of boy trying to cheer up the girl kind of lyrics.

Jaane tu ya jaane na is Aamir Khan's nephew's (Imran Khan) debut film.. and I think he should be good. The film also looks like a typical romantic drama.. I'll watch it for sure :) and I really like the lyrics of the song too.. so here goes:

Pretty woman.. dekho dekho na and Kajra Re.. is what comes to my mind when I finish hearing this song. I guess it's because it's composed and sung by the same trio.

Nihaal ho gayi.. is a nice fun song, full of energy and high pitched.. very well sung by Shankar Mahadevan.. he is one truly talented singer who can do good classical singing and in the context of the song.. I think it's about how a complicated life gets sorted or atleast they think it's sorted after .. that ek nazar :) I really don't know how..
and then things all seem nice and happening.. like how it happens in "Kuch to hua hai" .. Kal Ho Naa Ho - remember?

It's a nice song, listen and feel good :)

Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, Thoda Life Thoda Magic.. Same same but different movies with slightly but different titles.. I wonder how that happened and if you happen to watch trailors of hindi films, you'll probably catch these two within little time.

In the film Rani Mukerji plays a fairy who does not know how and what is love.. and I'm guessing Saif who finally does fall in love.. falls for Rani.. Oh my.. this somehow reminds me of an English movie which starred Resse Witherspoon called "Just Like Heaven"..and I wouldn't be surprised if thoda pyaar.. turns out to be similar.

Thinking of lazy lamhe.. the monsoons and winter (though Mumbai doesn't really have "winter") are the times when you do really feel lazy.. or a sunday morning :)
The remix of the song is what I like.. courtest Dj Aqeel.. it's got a lot of beats which have featured in his recent Waada Karo remix (Powerplay 2.).. but, I still like it.

You should listen to this version of the song.. it's got nice beats and very well sung too. A total music song for me.

By far the most tapori song this year is what I think of Dil Dance Maare!
This song has been playing quite a bit and yes, it hasn't featured till date because I never really thought the song was any great when I first heard it.. but I guess some songs are liked a little more when they get a little popular.. and I guess the case is the same.

Akshay Kumar and Saif look whacked in the blonde avataar.. but Kareena still carried it off pretty well is what I think..

Coming to the music of the song.. the beginning with the harmonium just takes me back to Bidi Jalaile from Omkara.. which also had quite a bit of the harmonium playing.. I guess it's the "tapori" kind of touch given to the song.. it's got good beats and the nice guitar music too.. It's a good blend of Indian and Western beats.. also maybe because of the blondes that feature in the song besides the Bollywood stars..

All in all.. I think the song makes me happy in my heart when I hear the song :)

And.. the funniest lines are:

I think - I like this song.. and I hated the film except Akshay Kumar :).
He truly was the saving grace in the film..

All I want to do when I hear this song is dance, dance, and dance a little more :)

I actually like the whistle playing very prominently in the beginning.. it reminds me of Sport's day in school.. maybe not a very nice comparison but well..
This indeed is a foot-tapping number from Race which was full of twists and turns.. maybe a little too much for one single film.. but well it was good entertainment.

Saif, Bipasha, Akshaye Khanna and Katrina Kaif all look nice in the song.
It's also been picturised well.. what a farmhouse.. whoever's it is :)

Coming to the playback singers.. I think KK tops my list now since Sonu Nigam is a little out of action.. KK's been coming up with some pretty good songs in the recent past.. not to forget Alvida(Life..In A Metro) and Kya Mujhe Pyar Hai (Woh Lamhe) - a couple of my favorites.

Dekho Nashe Mein -- also reminds me of the song from Tum Bin - Thoda Daroo Vich Pyar.. maybe because of the association of alcohol and fun!

It's a nice dance song.. get it for sure!

A simple romantic melodious duet is how I'd define this song..
It's simply a typical romantic song which you'd find in any and every Yash Raj film. I guess it's just their style.. this reminds me of Bol Na Halke Halke from Jhoom Barabar Jhoom.. not in terms of music or singing style - but just the genre - romance.

Honestly, I didn't think the song was any great when I heard it the first time.. but then I heard it again and now.. I just love it. It's got amazing music in terms of the flute, santoor, harmonica and the guitar..
And.. the music peace in between the two verses is simply divine!

So listen to the song and sing along :)

Dil haara is an absolute musical delight.. well sung and it's got good beats too..
Love the initial beats of the electronic guitar with the "Oho" followed.. sounds really catchy.

Dil Haara is the best track according to me in the entire album.. and is a nice blend of traditional and western music.. with a nice feel to it right at the end.. where it's quick!

Saif and Kareena look nice in the song and the film.. but Akshay Kumar is the best thing in the movie whom you should watch out for.
